Lifematters was founded with a single mission in mind – to dramatically improve the lives of clients by helping them manage their personal and health care needs in the comfort and privacy of their own homes.
Now in its 11th year, Lifematters is the largest employer based home care company in the country with thousands of satisfied clients. Our team consists of more than 1,200 active caregivers and client service and corporate support associates that number over 50 people. Lifematters. It’s more than just our name, it’s a reflection of our purpose and inspires the “why” in everything we do. From our clients and their loved ones to every member of our team, we know each person has an individual identity that must be acknowledged and embraced. In life, every chapter of each story matters. This belief translates into our commitment to the human standard of care, a standard that cannot be quantified by any industry metric. This care is defined by treating people in a moral and ethical way that is focused on ensuring their safety, dignity, and independence. Lifematters was founded by social entrepreneur Scott Thompson whose businesses all reflect his core belief that you do well by doing good. Driven by this commitment, Lifematters has grown into a business employing more than 1,000 people that provide care for more than 600 people each month throughout the Washington, DC metro area.
We take pride in the fact that many of Lifematters’ caregivers, who now make the United States their home, support families and communities in their native countries with the income they earn through their excellent work, touching their patients’ lives. Though our company has grown well beyond its humble beginnings in a space not much larger than a closet, we continue to provide an experience for each individual client designed to make him or her feel connected and protected. If it’s important to you, it’s important to us. Our deep pool of clinical professionals, well-trained certified caregivers, and client services staff collaborate with you to select just the right team to provide the care you need, delivering peace of mind. Needing care for yourself or a loved one can be a desperately isolating experience.
Whether battling a debilitating disease or terminal illness, recovering from a broken bone or exhausting surgery, even the smallest details can feel overwhelming and become all-consuming. Lifematters helps you navigate this difficult process every step of the way. Responsiveness matters, quality matters, you matter. Every moment with a loved one is precious. Life, especially when you are at your most vulnerable, matters.
